My Background

I, Saeed Pooladgar, am a senior water engineer specializing in irrigation and drainage. I started my master's degree in 2013 at Mohaghegh Ardabili University in the beautiful city of Ardabil, and in 2015 I managed to obtain a degree from this university. The subject of my research in the form of a master's thesis has been the evaluation of one of the most critical agricultural management models of farms, Aquacrop, to control the consumption of water and nutrient resources in agriculture.

The issue that motivates me the most for doing research in Water Engineering is to help with saving the planet from drought and improve the condition of vital water resources. In Iran, agricultural fields are often irrigated using traditional and outdated methods. This fact, along with the average annual rainfall of about 250 mm, has created an emergency crisis in this country. The water waste in agriculture is so high that it leads to about 92% of freshwater consumption in Iran occurring in agriculture, while the industrial water consumption is only about 8% and the drinking and urban use sector is 2%. One of the most essential needs of Iran today, is to save water resources, and in other words, to save lives is to modernize agricultural irrigation systems and use different farm management methods, which I tried to develop with the guidance of my respected professor, Dr. Azizi By using the Aquacrop model, it is possible to achieve a useful ratio of water consumption, nutrients, and crop production, and by using it, water and other resources can be prevented from being wasted in agriculture without significantly reducing the crop.

I also completed my undergraduate degree at the Faculty of Engineering and Water Sciences at Chamran University in Ahvaz, the center of Iran's water engineering, from 2009 to 2013. At this point, I got acquainted with various scientific solutions to prevent water wastage, and I tried to address them in my master's thesis. I studied modern irrigation and drainage systems, courses related to bio-systems, introductory courses in agriculture and horticulture, fluid hydraulics, and other subjects under the teaching of great professors such as Dr. Kashfipour, Dr. Fathi Moghadam, Dr. Bromandesab, Dr. Ghomeshi, and other honorable professors.

After my studies and while working at Dezab Ahvaz Company as a senior irrigation expert, in addition to my specialized field, due to my great interest in computers and the world of technology since I was a teenager, I started learning coding and web design. I learned it entirely in a short time of less than a year. After that, due to various reasons, including the worsening status of the water engineering job market in Iran, as well as my interest in new experiences, I decided to temporarily change my job and work as a front-end website designer and coder at Rubik Company in the city of Karaj. My coding expertise is Html, CSS, Javascript, jQuery, Wordpress and I'm still interested in learning more in this field, which I will address at the appropriate time.

My Most Important Experiences in Dezab Company

Seawater farming & Mariculture (including biofiltration and production of halophytes, microalgae and macroalgae, shrimp, fish, shell) The main concerns in this project were first, use of saline water instead of fresh water to produce food, and the second, maintain the environment. We designed a system consists of fish and shrimp ponds, Halophyte farm, microalgae pond, Artemia pond, Mangro farm and finally salt ponds. Every section of the system was the consumer of the waste water of another section.

Ramshir project: I was the leader of this project. The target of this project was designing the first and the secondary canals of the system.
Shavour project: I completed this project all on my own. Designing the main, the first and the secondary canals of the system was the goal of the project.
